GPU Tech Conference

NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conference (GTC), held this year from March 18-21 in San Jose, is the premier conference for developers, researchers and companies in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning. It features hundreds of sessions from leading companies (e.g. Facebook, Google and Microsoft) and leading research institutions in AI, and had more than 9,000 attendees this year.

Hannes Fassold, senior researcher at JOANNEUM RESEARCH (Graz, Austria), gave a 50 minutes talk there about employing deep learning methods for automatic analysis of conventional video as well as 360° video. Specifically, deep learning algorithms for object detection & tracking and face recognition have been presented, as well as applications like the automatic camera path generation from a 360° video.
